Vacation coverage in Beanflow

Beanflow automatically calculates the standard provincial or territorial vacation rule. Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island also require the employer to confirm that the employee is not in a named exception before the employee can be added to a pay group.

  • This hub explains who Beanflow will automatically calculate statutory vacation for. It is not a table of vacation percentages.
  • For rates, wage bases, and official sources, use Vacation Pay in Canada and the employment-standards reference.
  • Company industry, employment type, occupation, and WCB classification do not decide vacation coverage.

Provinces that need an employee confirmation

In these four jurisdictions, some workers are outside the standard vacation rule. Beanflow asks the employer to confirm standard coverage for that person. Open the province page before checking that confirmation.

Provinces with standard automatic vacation

These supported jurisdictions do not currently require a separate worker-coverage confirmation in Beanflow. Standard vacation still uses the employee’s vacation rate and the annual statutory rules. Quebec and federally regulated workplaces remain outside Beanflow’s employment-standards product scope.
