Who Beanflow calculates vacation for in Prince Edward Island

Beanflow automatically calculates Prince Edward Island’s standard vacation for supported employees. PE names several worker-level exclusions that cannot be inferred from occupation or company type. Athlete employment is an exclusion only under the rules that apply from June 30, 2026.

Do not confirm coverage when

Primary earnings are commission on sales

Do not confirm coverage if this person’s primary earnings are commission on sales. That is a PE worker exclusion, not a generic “sales industry” label.

Non-commercial farm labour

Do not confirm coverage for non-commercial farm labour. Commercial farm or office work is not automatically the same category.

Employment governed by a collective agreement

Do not confirm coverage if this employment is governed by a collective agreement. A unionized workplace can still have people who are not under that agreement.

Athlete employment from June 30, 2026

From June 30, 2026, PE also treats athlete employment as outside the automatic statutory vacation path. Do not confirm coverage for that role on a pay date on or after that date.

Company type is not enough

Farm, sales, sports, or unionized company status does not decide every employee. Confirm the person and the employment relationship.

If you cannot confirm

Do not add this employee to a Beanflow pay group for automatic statutory vacation. Beanflow will not invent a PE special-rule calculation from occupation or industry.
